Terms of Service

BestieSafe lets you send a gift — money or a hidden message — to someone you know. When you create one, you choose whether to lock it:

Locked. The gift sits behind a personal question. The person you send it to gets a link and exactly one attempt to answer. A correct answer opens the safe: money is paid to their Ghana mobile money number, or your message is revealed. A wrong answer, or letting the safe expire, keeps it locked forever — and your card is never charged for the gift amount.

Free. No question. You pay in full when you send it, and the recipient opens the link to receive it. You may choose to stay anonymous to them.

Locking is your choice, not a requirement. If you lock a gift and the recipient answers wrongly, the gift is not released — that is the condition you chose, and we apply it as you set it.

By creating a gift you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service.

• You must be 18 years or older to send a gift.
• BestieSafe is for gifting between people who know each other personally — friends, family, partners. It is not for paying for goods or services, collecting debts, or sending money to strangers.
• You must own, or have permission to use, the payment method and mobile money numbers you provide.

Each gift allows exactly one answer attempt, enforced by our systems. The answer must match what the sender set — we compare ignoring letter case and extra spaces, but otherwise it must be exact. There is no second try, no appeal on spelling, and no fuzzy matching. Senders see a preview of the exact required answer before locking a gift and are responsible for choosing a question their recipient can actually answer.

• All gifts are denominated in Ghana cedis (GHS) and paid out to Ghanaian mobile money numbers only.
• Locked gifts: only the service fee is charged when you lock it. The gift amount is charged only if the recipient answers correctly, as a separate payment you complete yourself from a link we send you.
• Free gifts: the service fee and the gift amount are charged together when you send it, and the money is paid out to the recipient straight away.
• In both cases BestieSafe never holds your gift money pending a decision, and is not a bank.
• The service fee is the same either way. Locking a gift does not cost more.
• The service fee is non-refundable in all cases, including wrong answers and expiry.
• Wrong answer or expiry: the gift amount is simply never charged. See our refund policy.
• If the recipient answers correctly, you have 48 hours to complete the payment. After that the gift lapses, nothing is charged for the gift amount, and we tell the recipient it wasn't completed.
• Limits currently apply: GHS 5,000 per gift, GHS 10,000 per sender per day, and a cap on simultaneously active gifts. We may change these limits.

You can send a gift without showing your name. If you do, the recipient sees only that “a bestie” sent it.

You are anonymous to the recipient, never to BestieSafe. Every sender has an account, pays with an identified card or mobile money account, and every gift is permanently recorded. We can and will identify the sender of any gift where the law requires it, or where a recipient reports a gift as harassment.

Do not use anonymous gifts to harass, threaten, or contact someone who has asked you not to. We will close accounts that do.

For locked gifts, the sender picks how long the safe stays open — from 1 hour to 7 days. If the recipient hasn't answered by then, the gift expires: for money gifts, the gift amount is simply never charged to the sender's card (the service fee, charged at creation, is not returned), and message gifts are sealed permanently.

Free gifts do not expire — there is nothing waiting on the recipient, and the money is paid out as soon as your payment clears.

BestieSafe involves no game of chance. The recipient stakes nothing and pays nothing — they can only receive. Whether the safe opens depends solely on whether they know the answer to a question set by someone who knows them. No element of the outcome involves chance, and no consideration is paid by the recipient.

You may not use BestieSafe to:

• harass, threaten, or deceive anyone, including through the question, hint, or hidden message;
• send content that is illegal in Ghana or in the recipient's country;
• launder money, evade sanctions, or move funds for someone you don't know;
• circumvent our limits by splitting amounts across gifts or accounts.

We may refuse, cancel, or refund any gift and suspend any account we reasonably suspect of breaking these rules.

• The gift link plus the correct answer is what opens the safe. Anyone with both can open it. Share the link only with your intended recipient, and pick a question only they can answer.
• You are responsible for entering the correct recipient mobile money number. Payouts to the number you provided are final.
• The mobile money number you provide as a sender is where we send you text updates about your gift, and where we'd reach you if a payout to the recipient ever needs manual attention.

BestieSafe is provided as-is. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount of the gift concerned. We are not liable for losses caused by incorrect numbers you provided, by sharing your gift link or answer, or by delays at mobile money networks or payment processors.
